As part of the Sips & Scoops series, MnDOT and the Hennepin History Museum hosted a virtual story share. Public historians from A Public History of 35W led the event. Their research focuses on the history of the I-35W corridor and its impacts on the surrounding community. The Story Share featured guest speakers Ernest Lloyd, Eric Hankin-Redmon, Bruce Bruemmer, Jessica Carter, Jacob Noble, and Tyler McDaniel. They covered multiple topics relating to the history of I-35W and shared first-hand stories of the construction of I-35W in South Minneapolis. These topics included talking with African American elders, alternative routes for I-35W, displaced property, displaced people, and environmental justice.
