On Wednesday, May 22nd, Engineering the Future students from Justice Page Middle School (1 W. 49th Street, MPLS, MN, 55419) had the opportunity to see the 35W@94 project up close via a guided tour courtesy of MNDot Project Manager Aaron Tag and Engineer Scott Pedersen! We weren't about to let a little rain stop us!
The tour began at JPMS with a brief project overview as well as a safety briefing. Students then boarded the buses to check out the construction of the new Lake Street Transit Station with Juan Rangel and the new exit to Lake Street from I-35W. Students then got a panoramic view from Franklin Steele Park of the I-94 portion of the project. The tour concluded by taking the "long way home" so our tour guides could show us and tell us about some the bridges being replaced as part of "The Project" as well as discuss the new storm water management system on I-35W near 42nd Street.
A HUGE THANK YOU to MNDot for the a GREAT TRIP! We are looking forward to even more trips next school year!!!
