On August 21, we hosted a Touch a Truck event and kids were smiling from ear to ear while sitting behind the wheel of a giant truck! The lineup of trucks to climb in, touch, and explore included a snooper, pavement assessment van, dump truck, and snow plow—it was tons of fun!

These future truck drivers had a blast practicing the horn, steering, and even jumping in the bucket of a 75-foot snooper truck, which is used for making repairs underneath bridges!

People at the event enjoyed demonstrations and information from Twin Cities Adaptive Cycling, MN Nice Ride, City of Minneapolis Recycling, and the Minneapolis Small Business Team. MnDOT was there to answer questions and share project information.

The trucks were located at Urban Ventures Farm Stand and participants were encouraged to try their wood-fired pizza oven and fresh produce. Yum!

This event is a part of our Sips and Scoops series, be sure to keep an eye on upcoming events!
