Twelve people on bikes and 20 people on a yellow school bus joined MnDOT on Sunday, Oct. 28 for tours of the 35W@94: Downtown to Crosstown project. The cool fall air didn’t keep local residents away from the opportunity to hear about the project and talk with the MnDOT project team.
People viewed progress during stops along the way and asked questions about pedestrian bridges, staging, public art, lane striping, bus routes, safety and more.
Participants played trivia to test their knowledge and learn some fun project facts. Here’s one for you – How many miles is the 35W@94 Project? If you answered 2.5 miles, you’re correct!
Both tours started and ended at the Kingfield Farmers Market. Participants were encouraged to shop to support their local vendors.
MnDOT will schedule several more bus and bike tours during the next three years to connect with the community during construction. Watch for information on future tours or contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to be added to our future tour notification list.
